American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an outpatient pain clinic Nurse Navigator role in Colorado, specializing in spinal cord stimulation (SCS) therapy within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Details

• Outpatient pain clinic setting focused on spinal cord stimulation (SCS) therapy
• Supports a Pain Physician's SCS practice, serving patients with complex chronic pain
• Multidisciplinary team includes anesthesiologists, pain physicians, psychologists, surgeons, and physical and occupational therapists
• 8-hour daytime shifts with no nights
• 40 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Colorado RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience in pain management nursing or a related specialty preferred
• Strong assessment, documentation, and patient education skills required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (two doses) or an approved declination on file

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include patient education on SCS therapy, coordinating pre-trial evaluations, managing the SCS trial phase, collecting patient-reported outcomes, and providing ongoing follow-up and continuity of care
• Serves as the central liaison between the patient and the multidisciplinary team, facilitating communication and shared decision-making throughout the SCS care pathway
• Responsible for expectation management, helping patients understand realistic outcomes related to pain relief, functional improvement, and psychological factors
• Documents clinical, psychological, and social information using validated, multidimensional assessment tools to support evidence-based decision-making
• Participates in training, competency development, and quality assurance activities consistent with evidence-based protocols and consensus guidelines
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 90 days before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius rule applies
