American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adolescent Inpatient Behavioral Health position at a psychiatric hospital in Falls Church, VA, requiring at least 2 years of behavioral health experience and active Meditech and CPI certifications.

Details

• Work setting is an inpatient adolescent psychiatric unit (Floor 3N) within a dedicated psychiatric hospital
• 43-bed adolescent unit serving patients ages 13–17
• Patient ratio is 6:1
• Day shift staffing includes 2 ACMs, 6 RNs, and 9 techs; night shift includes 2 ACMs, 5 RNs, and 7 techs
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Pyxis is used for medication dispensing
• EMR is Meditech; experience is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Current CPI certification required (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Minimum 2 years of recent behavioral health RN experience required
• Meditech EMR experience required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
• Professional references required: 1 reference for most states; 2 references for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include conducting RN-led groups, performing admissions and discharges, completing patient assessments, and administering medications
• Experience working with adolescents ages 13–17 is preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• VA fingerprinting and CRS (Criminal Record Search) process is required as part of onboarding
• Navy blue scrubs are required
