American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Direct Observation Unit (Telemetry) position in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
• Medical observation unit (T6) in a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
• No on-call requirements
• Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other basis
• Floating to similar units is required
• Epic EMR is required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• IV site assessment and IV insertion skills required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position (no local candidates)

Additional Information

• Assess IV sites every 4 hours and initiate new IVs per facility policy
• Complete admission assessments, develop and continuously modify individualized plans of care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation in compliance with quarterly chart audit standards
• Identify and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Must attend at least 5 out of 6 staff meetings per year
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must either convert to permanent staff or take a 6-month break before returning to any facility within the system
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
