American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I academic trauma center, requiring an active SC or compact RN license and prior scrub experience.

Details

• facility with with 21 OR suites covering all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
• Nursing team is composed of approximately 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate
• Day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts (10:30am-11:00pm)
• On-call required, up to 2 call shifts (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am) per 4-week scheduling period, including Saturday or Sunday coverage
• Weekend requirement of up to one working shift every 4 weeks
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs and between like units or sister facilities
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
• 2 years of OR experience strongly preferred
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Scrub experience strongly preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform both scrub and circulating duties for a wide range of surgical specialties in a nurse-driven, Magnet-designated department
• Work within a Level I trauma, academic teaching, Magnet-designated hospital with 820 staffed beds
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Required to work at least one holiday period, either Christmas (Dec 24-26) or New Year's (Dec 31-Jan 1)
• Block scheduling may be accommodated pending manager approval based on unit needs
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on the position
• Previous MUSC perm staff or PRN employees must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis, though non-local candidates are prioritized
• During hurricane season (June-November), all staff including travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams
