Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring an active IL RN license, BSN, and at least 2 years of cardiovascular OR experience, with on-call and weekend requirements.

Details

• Hospital-based CVOR setting with occasional floating to other units or facilities within the health system at the manager's request
• Primary schedule is days, 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM)
• On-call schedule follows a 3 days on / 3 days off rotation; must reside within 30 minutes of the facility while on call
• Weekend work is required
• Cardiovascular surgical cases include aortic aneurysm repair, atherectomy, atrial septal defect repair, CABG, IABP, MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, TAVR, and LVAD/RVAD
• Circulation of cardiac surgery cases is required; scrubbing is preferred
• General OR experience is also applicable to this role

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license currently in hand — emergency and pending licenses are not accepted
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR or cardiovascular OR experience
• Current BLS certification through AHA required; ACLS through AHA preferred
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to circulate cardiac surgery cases; scrub ability preferred
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and analytical skills
• Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the past year
• A completed skills checklist is required for consideration
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration — it cannot be added afterward
• Vaccination status must be provided

• Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility may be considered at a local pay rate
• Any prior employment history with this health system or its acquired facilities must be disclosed
• Floating between units or facilities within the health system may occur upon manager request, though it is rare
• Orientation includes facility-specific modules completed during scheduled shifts
