Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Flex Pool Night position at a Hawaii medical center, requiring a valid HI RN license and 2+ years of experience across medical-surgical and step-down settings.

Details

• Flex Pool RN role floating between multiple units, including a Medical Unit (77 beds), a Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and a Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
• Patient population spans adult medical-surgical and step-down acuity levels
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: Medical 1:6 (days/evenings) and 1:8 (nights), Surgical Acute 1:6, and Cardiovascular 1:4
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:45 PM – 7:15 AM, scheduled 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
• EMR system is Meditech; additional equipment includes Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
• Floating required across the Medical, Surgical Acute, and Cardiovascular units

Requirements

• Active State of Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
• Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of documentation

Additional Information

• Orientation is provided for each unit before independent assignment
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
• Clean, professional nursing scrubs required
• Ratios may vary due to unexpected staffing changes
