Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN for a night-shift 3x12 position requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 2 years of telemetry experience.

Details

• 36-bed Telemetry unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 schedule from 19:00 to 07:00
• Float required to units of equal acuity
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral/PICC line care
• Experience with blood product administration and heparin protocols
• Skilled in cardiac drip management (no titration) and PCA
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and remote telemetry monitoring
• Knowledge of BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with tracheostomy care and oxygen administration
• Experience caring for CVA, spinal cord injury, and cardiac surgery patients preferred
• Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including use of rapid response/code teams
• Manage feeding tubes and surgical drains as needed
• Care for post-MI and pre/post cardiac catheterization patients
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
