American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care/ICU DAYS position requiring LA or compact RN license and hands-on experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Impellas, and CRRT.

Details

• Work in a mixed cardiac and medical ICU setting within a hospital
• Patient population includes DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator-dependent patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Requires working every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required
• 13-week assignment length
• Full-time work schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from AHA required
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps required
• Experience with Impella devices required
• Experience with post-op cardiovascular surgeries required
• Experience with CRRT required
• BSN preferred
• 1 year of experience in Critical Care setting preferred, new graduates will be considered

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for critical care patients
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess and address learning needs of patients and families, providing education as needed
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete department-specific competency validation
• Must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
• Dress code requires teal or Caribbean blue scrubs
• Temp-to-perm opportunity possible
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles for local rate consideration
• Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment
