American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU/Surgical Recovery position requiring Epic EMR proficiency and ACLS certification, working day shifts at an acute care hospital in California.

Details

• Position is in a Surgical Recovery (PACU) unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Department hours are 6:00 AM–9:00 PM; shift start times vary within that window
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), 40 hours per week
• Epic EMR is used; experience is required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• PALS certification (American Heart Association) required within 1 year of hire
• IV Sedation competency required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU or surgical recovery nursing experience required
• Experience must be within the last 3 months
• Epic EMR experience required
• Active, unrestricted RN license with no prior license hits
• Two supervisor references required: one from within the past year and one from within the past two years
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provides post-anesthesia nursing care using the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and the broader care team
• Delegates patient care tasks to other nursing staff based on clinical competency and legal scope of practice
• Incorporates patient teaching and discharge planning into the overall plan of care
• This position is represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA)
• RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer; candidates with more than 5 days of RTO will not be considered
• Candidates with a prior hit on their RN license will not be considered
