Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a travel contract requiring Epic EMR proficiency, PALS certification at time of hire, and a minimum of 3 years of ED experience.

• Position is in a hospital Emergency Department
• Variable shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week
• Epic EMR used; experience is required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required at time of hire: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA)
• TNCC certification required within 1 year of hire
• Demonstrated competency in IV Sedation required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Must have worked in the ED specialty within the last 3 months
• Epic EMR experience required
• MICN and CEN certifications preferred
• BSN preferred
• Two supervisor references required: one from within the past year, one from within the past two years
• Active, unrestricted RN license with no prior disciplinary actions on record

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care based on the nursing process, consistent with the medical plan of care and patient/family input
• Collaborates with physicians and the broader healthcare team to coordinate patient care across all age groups
• Incorporates patient education and discharge planning into the overall care plan
• Delegates appropriate aspects of care to nursing staff based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice
• This position is represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA)
• RTO is limited to 5 days for the duration of the contract
