American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) position in an acute care Women's Center, requiring Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Acute care Women's Center unit covering L&D, Postpartum, and Mother/Baby (L&D/PP/MB)
• Unit includes 12 L&D beds, 1 OR suite, 1 triage bed, and 4 postpartum beds with approximately 80–100 births per year
• Patient population includes gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, and preeclampsia
• Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
• OB techs are present on the unit; OB/Neonatologist is not in-house 24/7
• Telemetry is available on the unit; RNs read strips independently
• EFM system used is GE Centricity; charting is done in Epic
• RNs are required to titrate drips including Oxytocin, Insulin, and Epidural
• Respiratory equipment on unit includes CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators
• 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a), with weekends scheduled every other weekend
• Call/standby requirement of 3–4 shifts per 6-week schedule; must be available and on-site within 30 minutes when on call
• Holiday coverage required for either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
• No floating requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS and Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
• Proficiency in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care required
• Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines required
• Basic fetal monitoring skills required
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN is not required
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
• A copy of an unexpired driver's license is required for consideration
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed upfront

• Ability to circulate and recover cesarean sections is preferred
• Orientation is provided intradepartmentally
• Charge nurse and house supervisor support are available on the unit
• Hospital-provided scrubs are worn on this unit
