American Traveler is hiring an experienced Outpatient Clinic RN for a Urology position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel experience at a large trauma center.

Details

• Work in an outpatient urology clinic supporting provider office visits and outpatient procedures
• Support nursing visits including bladder chemo instills, catheter changes, rectal swabs, and phone triage
• Each surgeon is typically assigned a dedicated nurse, with APPs counted as 0.5 nurses and each procedure staffed by one nurse
• Will train to support a specific group of providers' clinics and associated nurse visits
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
• No weekend requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience at a large trauma center required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include authorization forms, chart preparation, phone triage, medication refills, and pharmacy calls/patient refill requests
• Clinical skills required include vital signs, pain assessment, pulse oximetry, specimen collection, urinalysis, catheterization, and assisting with procedures
• Suture removal and oxygen administration skills preferred
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Facility is a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center with 1000+ beds
• Responsibilities include chart preparation, authorization and refill processing, disability forms, scheduling, and telephone triage
• Clinical duties include biohazard waste disposal, universal precautions, medication reconciliation, lab result interpretation, and patient assessments
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius of the hospital
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
