American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 16-week travel contract at a large academic medical center in Burlington, VT, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience with high competency in cardiovascular/open heart procedures.

Details

• Large (500+ beds) academic teaching hospital setting in Burlington, VT
• Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit performing open heart and cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Schedule options include four 10-hour days (6:45 AM–5:15 PM) or three 12-hour days (6:45 AM–7:15 PM)
• 36 hours per week on a rotating day/evening shift
• On-call required: one to two weekday overnight call shifts per week (7:00 PM–7:15 AM), and one full weekend of call every five weeks
• Floating may be required to other OR suites including general, ortho, neuro, and ENT
• Epic EMR is in use; recent experience is required
• Monday–Sunday availability required; no block scheduling

Requirements

• Active VT or Compact RN license required (NY license with proof of pending application may also be reviewed)
• Current BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience with recent, high-competency cardiovascular/open heart OR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience in a large (500+ bed) academic teaching hospital required
• Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required (non-negotiable)
• At least two references from a nurse manager and/or supervisor required, with one from the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Must scrub and circulate in CVOR cases
• Must be flexible with scheduling to meet unit and patient care needs
• Public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
• Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Candidates living within 50 miles, 51–100 miles, and 101+ miles are subject to different pay rate tiers based on straight-line distance from the facility
