American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Specialty Step Down position requiring tracheostomy care experience and Epic EMR proficiency, working nights in Oklahoma City, OK.

Details

• Hospital-based Med Specialty Step Down unit (high acuity)
• Patient population includes those with complex health problems requiring step-down level care
• Tracheostomy care is performed in this unit
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or eNLC Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Step Down experience required
• Tracheostomy care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Manages an assigned group of step-down patients, monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
• Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and coordinates referrals to appropriate personnel
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to return after completing 26 weeks of total assignment time
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
