American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medicine Specialty unit position requiring 1 year of Med/Surg and Stepdown experience and a compact or OK RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medicine Specialty unit of a hospital setting
• Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• 12-hour day shifts, 4 days per week, totaling 48 hours weekly
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact/eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Level 1 trauma center experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver competent nursing care
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, noting all physician order changes
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing and intervening as necessary
• Administer medications and initiate, regulate and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and make appropriate referrals for care needs
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to allow for compliance processing
