American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN with prior travel experience, strong vascular and cardiovascular surgical skills, and the ability to manage heavy on-call responsibilities including every other weekend and holidays.

• Position is based in a hospital CVOR setting with access to ambulatory OR, general OR, hybrid OR, and trauma environments
• Patient population includes complex cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases
• Cardiovascular procedures include CABG, TAVR, MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, atrial septal defect repair, aortic aneurysm repair, pericardial window, and femoral cannulation
• Vascular procedures include EVAR, TEVAR, carotid endarterectomy, carotid artery stenting, carotid angioplasty, femoral popliteal bypass graft, and vein stripping
• Thoracic procedures include thoracotomy, lung resection, and lobe resection
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Heavy on-call requirements approximately 4–5 days per week
• On-call required every other weekend and on holidays
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications must be active and in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 5 years of CVOR nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in vascular surgical cases including EVAR, fem-pop bypass, carotid procedures, and TEVAR
• Experience mixing cardiac medications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills in administration of blood and blood products, cardiac monitoring, specimen handling, and universal protocol (time-out) procedures
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two supervisor references required (must be from within the past 2 years)
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IABP, TAVR, and ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD) preferred
• Vein stripping experience preferred
• Femoral cannulation experience preferred
• Cannot accommodate candidates with latex allergies

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing scrub and/or circulating duties for complex cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases
• Candidate must be able to mix and administer cardiac medications
• NIHSS certification may be pending at time of consideration but must be completed prior to start
• Travel pairs are accepted for this position
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been separated for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required
