American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU department of a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:2
• Night shift schedule with a rotating 36/48 pattern (one week of 3x12-hour shifts, the next week of 4x12-hour shifts, totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period), 19:00-07:30
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Float required within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• , years years of current ICU experience required
• Active KY or compact RN license in hand required at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• AVADE certification preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Prior charge experience preferred
• 3-6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience noted
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and TPN/Lipids administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• 2 professional references required, including one from a Charge nurse or higher and one from a supervisor, both completed within the last year
• Valid driver's license required, with address matching permanent address

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across a range of ICU specialties including cardiovascular, neuro, surgical, trauma, and transplant care
• Responsibilities may include managing patients with CVA/acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, GI surgery, and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as needed
• Administer continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade under provider direction
• Monitor patients using arterial lines, EVDs, Impella, IABP, and Swan-Ganz catheters as applicable
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO will be considered and must be presented upfront with no changes accepted
• Must work either a major or minor shift on every holiday
• Assignment confirmation must be signed within 24 hours of an offer
• Travelers may only apply to one position at a time
• Minimal traveler pairs accepted, and pairs will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• Travelers who have completed one year with the system must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on relevant Level IV or above experience
