American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level III Trauma facility, requiring strong neuro and cardiac skills with telemetry-heavy patient care on 12-hour day shifts.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit with telemetry capability on all 24 beds — heavy telemetry focus
• Adult patient population; travelers are not assigned pediatric patients
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, adjusted based on acuity
• Charting via Sunrise Allscripts EMR
• Float requirement to all Med/Surg units and ICU (for Med/Surg overflow patients)
• No IV team on unit — nurses are expected to manage IVs independently
• Support staff includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapist, and Pharmacy available in-house 24/7

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• PALS preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong neuro and cardiac nursing skills required
• Sunrise Allscripts EMR experience preferred
• BSN not required

• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Scrubs in any color except all black; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• 13-week contract
