American Traveler is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a CVOR-focused OR position at a Level I Trauma academic medical center in Ohio, requiring 5+ years of CST experience including dedicated cardiac and vascular scrub experience.

Details

• Work setting is a CVOR within an academic, Level I Trauma hospital in Ohio
• Primary procedures include CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, valve replacement (including TAVR), VAD, and other cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries
• Additional case types include vascular, thoracic (VATS, lung resection), plastics (free flap, mastectomy with TRAM flap), and general surgery
• Hybrid OR and General OR environments are part of the work setting
• Evening shift with a mixed schedule of two 8-hour and two 12-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours
• Shifts may occur anytime between 6:30 AM and 11:00 PM based on staffing needs
• Weekend rotation distributed equitably among staff
• On-call duties are included and distributed equitably among staff
• Charting system is Epic

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license required — note: this is a CST role; valid CST credentials must be active at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 5 years of total CST experience required (hard stop)
• Minimum 2 years of dedicated cardiac and vascular experience required (hard stop)
• Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility required
• Scrub experience required
• Experience with cardiovascular and thoracic instrument reprocessing required
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, equipment documentation, crash cart, and scrub/circulate responsibilities
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (e.g., supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to consideration and built into the contract; RTO is limited to 7 days or less for the contract duration
• Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly upon signing the contract — candidates outside of Ohio but within driving distance will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location; those at a greater distance will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently
