American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Postpartum position in Oregon, requiring at least 1-2 years of specialty experience and active Epic and NRP certifications.

Details

• Mother-Baby Unit within a children's hospital setting, providing postpartum, antepartum, and gynecological care to a high-risk patient population
• Well newborn care provided as part of a rooming-in service
• State-mandated nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for stable normal couplets and 1:2 for couplets with complications (e.g., late preterm, maternal magnesium sulfate administration)
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• 13-week contract
• Floating to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required for candidates with labor skills; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active Oregon (OR) RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) certification required
• Minimum 1-2 years of specialty experience in a postpartum, antepartum, or LDRP unit required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; Charge RN references are not acceptable
• COVID vaccination proof required; no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Preferred certifications include Maternal Newborn Certification, Inpatient Obstetric Certification, and IBCLC (International Board of Certified Lactation Consultant)
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restriction applies
• Candidates who are former employees or previous travelers at this health system must have a reference completed by their former supervising manager at the facility
• Candidates must have been away from the facility for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and may not exceed 2 weeks
• First-time travelers should review position requirements carefully, as 1-2 years of specialty experience is required
