American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis position requiring at least 24 months of dialysis experience including inpatient and Fresenius machine proficiency, with travel across multiple campuses in Iowa.

Details

• Hospital-based acute dialysis unit spanning two campuses: Iowa Methodist Medical Center (5 beds) and Iowa Lutheran Hospital (2 beds)
• Patient population includes remote telemetry and ICU patients requiring dialysis, including AKI and ESRD cases
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• Equipment used includes Fresenius 2008T machines (hemodialysis) and Baxter Homechoice Claria (peritoneal dialysis)
• EMR: Epic
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7a–7p, 36 hours/week
• On-call rotation among RNs: Mon–Fri 1900–2200, Saturday 1900–0700, and Sunday 0700–1900 or 1900–0600
• Floating required across all campuses
• Holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate RN license required
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Minimum 24 months of dialysis experience, including inpatient experience, required
• Experience with telemetry reads and measurements required
• Experience using Fresenius machines required
• Acute dialysis experience highly preferred
• Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 24 months preferred for consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered

Additional Information

• Navy blue solid scrubs required
• Candidates who were employed by the client within the 12 months prior to application may not be eligible for consideration
• Required to work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day (unless the unit is closed)
• Time-off requests are limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving week (11/26–11/30) and the winter holiday period (12/23–1/2), regardless of holidays worked
