American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - ECMO Specialist for a high-volume pediatric and adult ECMO program at an academic medical center, requiring prior ECMO experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Large-volume pediatric and adult ECMO program at an academic medical center
• Role focuses on pediatric ECMO patients who are stable on ECMO
• Patient population includes congenital heart disease, congenital diaphragmatic hernias, and respiratory failure
• Patient ratios are 1:1, occasionally 1:2 for pediatric circuits; 1:3 in adults utilizing a remote monitoring and rounding care model
• Days/nights rotating schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00)
• 2 weekends required per 4-week departmental scheduling period
• No call or float requirements
• Epic EMR — experience required

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Minimum 1 year of ECMO specialist experience required
• Prior ECMO specialist experience at an urban or academic medical center required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references from a manager or supervisor required for consideration — charge RNs are not acceptable as references

Additional Information

• Manage and monitor pediatric ECMO circuits, with responsibilities spanning stable ECMO patients across congenital and respiratory diagnoses
• Flu vaccination is required with no exemptions permitted
• Candidates who have been employed by this health system within the past 12 months are not eligible to apply
