Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg (Medical/Renal/Gastroenterology) unit position requiring a valid NJ RN license, at least 1 year of experience, and availability for overnight shifts with on-call responsibilities.

Details

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg unit specializing in Medical, Renal, and Gastroenterology patients
• PM shift scheduled 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• On-call required for this position
• Floating required, including to a nearby sister hospital
• Charting performed in Epic (experience expected)

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license required (NJ or Compact)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, direct patient care, accurate clinical documentation, and patient/family education
• Nurses are expected to individualize care based on patient diagnoses, procedures, and conditions specific to the unit
• Patient safety practices including National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol must be followed consistently
• Two professional references are required for consideration
• Travelers who have been on assignment with this health system for one calendar year must take a break before returning to a new assignment
