American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical ICU position in Alexandria, LA, requiring experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Impella devices, post-op cardiovascular surgery, and CRRT.

Details

• Mixed cardiac and medical ICU setting
• Patient population includes DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator-dependent patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Impella devices, post-op cardiovascular surgeries, and CRRT is required
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• No floating required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a critical care setting
• Hands-on experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Impella devices, post-op cardiovascular surgery care, and CRRT required
• BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources
• All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete organizational entry and Critical Care Department-specific competency validations
• Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility
