American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interim Operations Support Manager for a Sterile Processing Department leadership role requiring CRCST or CSPDT certification and a minimum of 5 years of sterile processing experience.

• Hospital-based Central Processing/Sterile Processing Department setting in Boston, MA
• Mid-shift, 8-hour shifts rotating between days and evenings, 40 hours per week
• Leadership on-call responsibilities taken in 1-week blocks (Friday to Thursday), including after-hours phone coverage and a 1-hour Saturday or Sunday site visit
• Reports directly to the Senior Director of Surgical Services
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required; CHL certification preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Sterile Processing, or a combination of OR and Sterile Processing operations
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in healthcare operations
• Bachelor's degree required, or active enrollment in a bachelor's program to be completed within 24 months of hire (applicable for interim-to-permanent conversions)
• Strong knowledge of sterilization, infection prevention, regulatory standards, workflow management, and quality improvement
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare operational systems
• Two professional references required for consideration: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), one must include a performance evaluation completed within the last 12 months, and the other within the last 3 years
• A valid, non-expired driver's license is required for consideration

Additional Information

• Oversee day-to-day Central Processing operations, ensuring 24/7 service readiness for surgical and patient care areas
• Manage instrument reprocessing, sterilization workflows, inventory availability, throughput optimization, and OR customer service
• Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate supervisors and staff, including performance management, scheduling, and employee relations
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, AAMI, AORN, CDC, OSHA, and infection prevention standards
• Serve as subject matter expert in decontamination, sterilization, and high-level disinfection practices
• Partner with clinical leaders to support surgical case readiness and resolve operational issues
• Monitor quality, safety, and regulatory performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and will be offered a local pay rate
