Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an outpatient Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) clinic position in Austin, TX, requiring ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification and at least 1 year of relevant specialty experience.

Details

• Outpatient BMT/Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) oncology clinic setting
• Clinic operates with 15 rooms/curtains and a small, close-knit team consisting of a charge nurse, 5 RNs, 1 PCT, 1 scheduler, 1 social worker, and 4 apheresis staff
• Patient caseload of 6–8 patients per day
• Common procedures include chemotherapy infusions, IVIG, and blood product transfusions (PRBCs, platelets, plasma)
• Infusion pumps are the primary equipment used
• EMR system: Meditech
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Rotating weekend shifts: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in oncology or BMT
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no exceptions
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• BMTCN or OCN certification is preferred
• Outpatient clinic experience is preferred
• This is the only TCT clinic in Central Texas and is part of the Sarah Cannon Network
• Navy scrub top and bottoms are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Teamwork is central to this unit's culture; the small staff fosters close working relationships
