American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 29-bed Stepdown/IMCU unit in South Florida, requiring a minimum of 2 years recent Stepdown experience and an active FL or Compact RN license.

Details

• 29-bed Stepdown unit that operates similarly to an IMCU, caring for Telemetry and Stepdown patients without ventilators
• Patient population includes total care patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure requiring ICU-level skills
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating to other Telemetry floors required as needed
• Epic EMR — experience required

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown experience within the last 3 years
• Experienced nurses must have at least 2 years of experience with a minimum 80-hour critical care course, OR 5 years of acute care ICU experience
• Degree must be from an accredited school, or from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON) with 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
• Required clinical skills: Airway Management, Dysrhythmia Management, Central Line Management, IV Drips, Isolation Precautions, ABG Interpretation, and Management of Multisystem Organ Dysfunction/Failure
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia/EKG assessment prior to starting

• Candidates must pass a pass/fail EKG and Basic Arrhythmia assessment; if not scoring 100% on lethal rhythms, a retake exam (Dysrhythmia Exam B) must be completed within 24 hours and passed with an overall Angoff score of 83% or higher, 100% on the lethal rhythm section, and 83% on all other sections
