American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Diagnostic Cardiology - Stress position at a Level 1 Trauma Academic Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, requiring at least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience and proficiency in TEEs, stress testing, and EKG interpretation.

• Cardiology Stress Lab setting within a Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center (885 licensed beds) with a dedicated Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
• Patient population includes Heart Failure and Cardiac Diagnostics with advanced studies: TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo, as well as Chemotherapy and Renal Transplant Evaluations
• Department volume: approximately 110 TTE/comprehensive studies per day across all areas, 14 Stress/Stress Echo/Nuclear Cardiology/Tilt studies per day, and 5–6 TEEs per day
• 10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:45am–4:45pm (1-hour lunch), 40 hours per week
• Rotational weekend coverage required based on unit needs
• Holiday coverage required based on unit needs
• Floating to satellite sites within the Wake Region may be required
• EMR: Epic (Encompass); experience with Epic preferred
• Equipment used includes Philips and GE echo systems, GE CASE stress lab, and Philips ISCV for echo reporting

Requirements

• Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with cardiac focus required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• PALS preferred
• Proficiency in TEEs, stress testing, EKG interpretation, IV management, cardioversion, mild sedation, and infusion required
• Most recent experience must be within the last year
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year required for consideration
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Perform cardiac diagnostic procedures including stress testing, TEE, and echo studies in a fast-paced, patient/family-focused academic lab environment
• Department is supported by a dedicated Cardiac Ultrasound Educator, Chief Sonographer, 19 echo technologists (including satellites), 5 RNs, and 2 Exercise Physiologists
• Orientation includes facility-level NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Scrub colors: Barney Purple tops (not eggplant) with black pants/skirts; black or matching purple warm-up jackets
