American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU/Surgery Center position at an ambulatory surgery center, requiring strong IV skills and the ability to recover Phase 1 PACU patients across a broad age range.

Details

• Ambulatory surgery center setting specializing in ophthalmologic and related surgical cases
• Phase 1 PACU recovery responsibilities for patients ranging from 6 months to 95 years of age
• Surgical case familiarity with eye procedures (cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma) and plastics strongly preferred
• Responsibilities include instilling prescribed pupil-dilating drops, patient interviews, assessments, airway management, and pain/nausea management
• Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or valid eNLC compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required; 2+ years strongly preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong IV skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include recovering Phase 1 PACU patients, managing airways, and controlling post-operative pain and nausea
• Candidate must be able to maintain a fast pace and work effectively within a team environment
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract (prior travelers may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks)
• This facility has strict compliance deadlines — candidates must be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
