American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an EP Lab (Electrophysiology) position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring at least 2 years of experience with peripheral and coronary circulation and an active CA RN license.

• Acute care hospital setting in an EP Lab (Electrophysiology Lab)
• STEMI receiving center performing 15–20 cases per day across 4 suites
• Patient population includes cath lab diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral cases
• Advanced equipment in use includes laser, rotablator, nitric oxide, IVUS, Impella, IABP, FFR, and Angio Jet
• Ventilators are used for applicable cases with RT present in the room
• Charting in Cerner EMR; Merge Hemo system used for hemodynamic monitoring; Philips and Siemens imaging equipment
• 12-hour day shifts, 6:30am–7:00pm
• Every other weekend required; weekend call every 6th weekend
• One night of on-call per week; call crew works until all cases are complete with a day off following call
• Call response time of 30 minutes or less required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Standard or Compact) required; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with peripheral and coronary circulation is required
• Comfort with critically ill patients required
• Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) before an offer can be confirmed
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include pre-procedure patient assessments, moderate sedation administration, sterile field maintenance, hemodynamic and cardiac rhythm monitoring, post-procedure recovery care, and emergency response including ACLS during code situations
• Cardiologist is on standby or working 24/7; charge nurse coverage during days with a circulating nurse serving in a charge capacity after hours
• Hospital-provided scrubs
• A Pass/Fail sterile technique test (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) is administered on the first day of orientation
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Experience with Merge Hemo system is a plus
