Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) for a 13-week OR travel contract requiring orthopedic and robotic surgery experience with on-call responsibilities.

Details

• Acute care hospital OR setting with 6 OR suites and 2 GI suites
• Common cases include TKA, THA, ORIF, robotic cholecystectomy, robotic hernia repair, cataracts, GI endoscopies, and podiatry
• Volume of 10 to 30 cases per day
• Scrubbing is required
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (0630–1700)
• On-call required 2 nights per week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks
• On-call response time of 30 minutes required
• Holiday call coverage: 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday
• Occasional floating to IR for pain cases or ED/floor as needed
• Charting in Cerner (transitioning to Epic)
• Grey scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active WI or Compact RN license (must be active by start date)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of RNFA experience
• Orthopedic surgery experience required
• Robotic surgery experience required
• 2 professional references required: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years of relevant experience

Additional Information

• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and will be offered a reduced travel pay rate
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months, and hospital approval is required prior to placement
• The facility currently uses Cerner and is transitioning to Epic
