American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level II neonatal ICU position requiring NRP, STABLE, and Cardiac STABLE certifications, with delivery room high-risk resuscitation experience.

Details

• Level II-B NICU (32 weeks gestation and greater) in an acute care hospital setting
• 13-bed unit caring for premature infants ≥32 weeks, late preterm, sepsis, hypoglycemia, infants requiring oxygen (nasal cannula, high-flow NC, CPAP), NOWS/NAS, and feeding difficulties — infants requiring ventilation are stabilized and transferred to a higher level of care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3
• May initiate and perform short-term management of titratable drips (Dopamine, Epinephrine) prior to transport
• CPAP used routinely; ventilators available for emergency stabilization only
• Charting via Epic
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a
• Weekend coverage based on unit needs
• Travelers are first to float and may be required to float to like NICU units within the valley (e.g., Nampa NICU, Boise NICU) for like assignments — travelers will not be expected to manage patient types outside their unit's scope (e.g., vented patients)
• No on-call or standby requirement
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Idaho (ID) or Compact RN license required — must be active at time of consideration, pending licensure not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of NICU RN experience
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE, and Cardiac STABLE
• Delivery room high-risk resuscitation experience required
• IV start and lab draw experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Neonatal NP is on-site 24/7; a Charge RN is present each shift and typically carries an assignment while also covering high-risk deliveries
• CNA support available for the shared L&D/Postpartum/NICU floor 4–5 days and nights per week
• Orientation is customized per traveler, typically 2–3 shifts
• Blue scrubs are provided on the unit
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Former permanent employees must have been away for at least one year before being considered for a travel assignment
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
