American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level III Trauma Center MICU requiring 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience and telemetry strip reading competency.

Details

• Work in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) within a Level III Trauma Center
• Care for a wide range of adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day
• RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients
• Ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Medical/Surgical units
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend required
• Option for 36 or 48 hour weekly schedules
• Night shift does not rotate
• Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU
• Must be able to read telemetry strips
• Telemetry competency required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill adult ICU patients across a wide range of diagnoses
• Collaborate with attendings and residents who are present in the ICU around the clock
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston
• Local candidates residing within the radius will receive a rate 5% less than the standard travel rate
