Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week travel contract at a hospital-based L&D/Postpartum unit requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• 25-bed Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit encompassing L&D, PP, NBN, 2 ORs, 2 recovery rooms, and 2 antepartum/ANU rooms with 4 beds
• Average daily census of 15–25 mothers, babies, and laboring patients
• Clinician-to-patient ratios: L&D 1:2–3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium drip, or epidural; Postpartum 1:3–4
• Rotating shift position — primarily days (7:00am–7:30pm) with rotation to evenings (11:00am–11:30pm) and nights (7:00pm–7:30am); straight days cannot be offered
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 1 night of call per week included
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• EMR: Epic (charting)
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• Minimum 3 years of L&D experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), NRP, and EFM (2-year renewal cycle)
• MGB EFM certification accepted from NCC, K2, or AWHONN with 2-year renewal
• Required skills: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum care, OR circulator, and Newborn care
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted

• Responsibilities include caring for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients across L&D, PP, OR, recovery, and antepartum settings
• Time and attendance tracked via UKG/Kronos
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
• Parking is not validated at Boston locations; public parking is available at candidate expense
