American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Medical ICU position requiring prior travel experience, large teaching facility background, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work setting is a Medical ICU (M4 MICU) with overflow neuro patients at a large academic teaching hospital
• Patient population includes medical ICU and neuro overflow cases involving multi-system disease, COVID, and complex critical care
• Procedures and skills include IV starts, multiple titrating drips, critical vent management, CRRT, IABP, and ECMO
• Epic EMR is used; recent experience required
• 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights), 36 hours per week
• Schedule runs Monday through Sunday with no block scheduling
• Must be open to working potentially every weekend
• Required to float to SICU, Miller 3, and Miller 4

Requirements

• Active VT or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — NIHSS must be obtained prior to start; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU unit experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Large academic teaching facility experience required
• Experience with multi-system disease, CRRT, IABP, ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and multiple drips required
• Epic experience within the past 2 years required
• Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• All employment gaps exceeding 90 days must be explained

Additional Information

• Candidates with a NY license showing proof of pending status will be considered
• Public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
• Candidates located within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a local pay rate; those between 51–100 miles are eligible for a radius rate — distance is measured in a straight line, not by driving distance
