American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring a minimum of 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and Swan-Ganz monitoring proficiency.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• CVICU unit in a large, short-term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds
• High-acuity cardiac ICU patient population requiring experienced, knowledgeable nurses
• Average patient ratio of 1:2 on both day and night shifts
• Swan-Ganz hemodynamic monitoring is regularly used in this unit
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) ICUs within scope may be required
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 3 years of cardiac ICU experience required
• Proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring required
• Experience at a large trauma center required
• Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or fewer may be approved; requests exceeding 7 days require additional facility approval
• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Parking is available at a cost of $125/month
