American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department position requiring at least 1.5 years of ED experience and TNCC certification, with night shifts and cross-campus float responsibilities.

Details

• Work setting is a large, short-term acute care Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with over 1,500 staffed beds
• Emergency Department assignment with potential rotation to other campus EDs and ED observation units
• Average patient ratio of 1:6 on both day and night shifts
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope to other campuses and units required to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling accommodations are available
• Charting is done in Epic
• Parking is available at a cost of $125/month

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
• Minimum 1.5 years of ED experience required; 2 years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
• No prior disciplinary actions or priors on nursing license
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Travelers are assigned to one primary campus but may rotate to other campus EDs and ED observation units
• Travelers are not assigned to trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
• Weekend call-out policy is in effect: any missed weekend shift must be made up on another weekend shift within the next 6-week scheduling period
• RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires manager approval
• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position
