American Traveler is seeking a travel RN specializing in Behavioral Health for a 13-week night shift contract at an inpatient psychiatric unit in Elko, NV, requiring a minimum of 1 year of inpatient behavioral health experience.

Details

• Inpatient Behavioral Health unit (BHU) located on the 3rd floor of an acute care hospital
• 16-bed adult psychiatric unit treating conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, personality disorders, and dual diagnosis (primary mental health)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Every-other-weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other departments may be required
• EMR: MedHost (Med Host); equipment includes vitals machines, EMAR, and Omnicell medication dispensing

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS required — candidates have up to 60 days post-start to obtain if not currently held
• PALS required — candidates have up to 90 days post-start to obtain if not currently held
• Handle with Care certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient behavioral health experience required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Provide psychiatric nursing care to adult patients with mental health diagnoses including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and dual diagnosis
• Fit testing is available on-site for travelers
• Scrubs required; no specific color requirement
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are not eligible for this travel position
• Elko, NV is located approximately 3 hours from Salt Lake City and offers year-round outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and cycling in the nearby Ruby Mountains
