American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN to serve as a CAR-T Nurse Coordinator in a specialized hematology/oncology outpatient clinic setting, with Epic EMR experience and an active MA RN license required.

Details

• Outpatient clinic setting within a hematology and hematologic malignancies division specializing in cellular therapy, including CAR-T and other immune effector cell therapies
• Patient population is adult oncology patients, primarily with lymphoma and leukemia (malignant hematology)
• Average caseload of approximately 10 patients followed at a time, with 1–3 patients seen per day
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (10-hour shifts), with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
• 40 hours per week
• Epic EMR experience is required
• No floating required
• No charge nurse responsibilities required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• OCN certification preferred but not required
• Background in malignant hematology (lymphoma, leukemia) required; specific years of experience not mandated
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
• No previous travel experience required

Additional Information

• Serves as the primary clinical coordinator for patients undergoing CAR-T therapy and other immune effector cell therapies across the full treatment continuum — from referral and leukapheresis through infusion and post-treatment monitoring
• Acts as a liaison among patients, caregivers, physicians, APPs, inpatient/outpatient teams, apheresis services, cellular therapy labs, investigational pharmacies, and external treatment centers
• Responsibilities include managing treatment-related toxicities such as cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS)
• Coordinates with insurance companies, pharmaceutical/CAR-T manufacturers, and patient families; significant patient and caregiver education component both in-person and by phone
• Ensures compliance with FACT, FDA, REMS, manufacturer, and institutional requirements, including maintaining accurate EMR documentation and supporting audit readiness
• Weekly duties vary between patient-facing and administrative work depending on caseload activity
• Supported by a team of 4 providers and 1 experienced nurse coordinator who will provide training and orientation
• COVID vaccine and booster required; flu vaccine required during flu season; medical exemptions are accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted for this position
• All previous Beth Israel Lahey Health employees (travel, permanent, or per diem) must have a minimum 6-month break before returning to any facility within the health system
