Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for an acute care behavioral health setting in California, requiring a CA RN license and prior psychiatric nursing experience.

Details

• Acute care psychiatric unit with 35 semi-private beds
• Patient population includes schizophrenia, major depression, and bipolar disorder
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:9
• Night shift, 11pm start, five 8-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• First to float
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting performed in Cerner EMR
• 16-week assignment

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required; must be active — pending certifications not accepted
• CPI or AVADE certification required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience required
• A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• A manager interview is required for this position
• Navy scrubs required
• RNs must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) before an offer can be confirmed; contact your recruiter to have the exam sent to you
• On the first day of orientation, RNs will take a pass/fail skills test on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
