Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a 16-week travel contract in an acute care behavioral health setting, requiring CPI or AVADE certification and evening/night shift availability.

Details

• Acute care psychiatric unit with 35 semi-private beds
• Patient population includes schizophrenia, major depression, and bipolar disorder
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:9
• Evening and night shifts with an 8-hour shift length, starting at 3:00 PM (mids)
• Every other weekend required
• First to float when floating is needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Cerner EMR used in this position
• 16-week contract

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted
• Current CPI or AVADE certification required; pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience required
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Manager interview required for this position
• Navy scrubs required
• RNs must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) before an offer can be confirmed
• A Pass/Fail test on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes is administered on the first day of orientation
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
