American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology position requiring active RN licensure, APHON Chemotherapy certification, and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Inpatient hospital setting within a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit
• Pediatric oncology patient population with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Required certifications (all from AHA): BLS, PALS, and ACLS
• APHON Chemotherapy certification required
• Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration (ONS) required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in organizing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Full Date of Birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses to interventions, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Provides patient and family education on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes appropriate referrals for patient care needs
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for another contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly and deadlines are strictly enforced
