American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with a compact or OK license to provide care in a Level I trauma cardiac telemetry unit requiring floating to med-surg.

Details

• 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a Healthcare Unit Coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• Shift schedule 18:30-07:00
• Float required to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if department has a need

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or OK) currently in hand
• BLS certification required (must be AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must have a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implements and monitors patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient condition
• Coordinates care across disciplines and carries out physician and nursing orders
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Nurses work in teams supported by PCTs and a unit secretary
• Radius rule applies allowing local candidates at a reduced rate, with mileage varying by state
