American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with liver transplant scrub experience for a night shift travel contract requiring significant call hours and a broad surgical skillset.

Details

• Hospital operating room setting with 22 rooms and a daily average surgical case volume of 35
• Liver transplant cases are a core requirement, along with large open belly, general, urology, thoracic, GYN, plastics, Whipple, liver resection, and free flap procedures
• Da Vinci XI robotic surgical system is used
• Cerner EMR — experience required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required — candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required
• Current BLS (AHA or RQI accepted) and NBSTSA certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR scrub experience required
• Ability to independently scrub liver recipient transplants is a hard requirement — candidates without transplant experience will not be considered
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and scrub role across multiple surgical specialties
• Cerner charting experience required
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Candidates will be asked to confirm their ability to independently scrub liver recipient transplants and their most recent transplant scrub experience
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Indiana residents are not eligible for this position — only out-of-state (non-IN resident) candidates will be considered
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, in-state residents require a 180-day break
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved automatically
