American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Infusion position at an outpatient infusion center in Charlotte, NC, requiring APHON certification and pediatric-specific infusion experience.

Details

• Outpatient pediatric infusion center setting with 25 infusion rooms and 2 procedure rooms, typically running at 50–60% capacity daily
• Patient population includes pediatric patients receiving infusions and treatments for Hematology, Oncology, Neuro Oncology, GI, and Endocrine conditions
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
• EMR: Epic; IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; monitors: GE
• 10-hour day shifts (0800–1730), with the department also offering 8- and 9-hour shift options depending on departmental needs; scheduled days during the week will vary
• 40 standard hours per week
• Weekend rotation required every 4th–5th weekend
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• No floating required
• Schedule is set on a 6-week cycle with manager approval required for RTO

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, PALS, and APHON
• Minimum 2 years of experience; at least 12 months of recent core experience in pediatric infusion or a closely related specialty
• Pediatric-specific infusion experience required; candidates with strong prior outpatient experience who are currently working inpatient may be considered
• Experience with pediatric oncology and hematology in an outpatient setting strongly preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after holding a permanent position there
• Candidate's permanent address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Departmental support includes CNAs (rooming patients and vitals), a receptionist/HUC, a charge nurse, an IV/VAT team, and RT available 24/7; AP providers are in-house during open hours
• Orientation includes a facility-level NEO followed by 2–3 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays, including 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• Scrub color is Navy Blue; Pediatric-friendly tops are permitted but must be paired with a Navy Blue or White undershirt
• Free on-site parking is available
