American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for an 18-week night shift travel contract at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Nebraska, requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

• ICU setting within an acute care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center
• 33-bed ICU unit with an average daily census of 16 patients
• Patient population includes trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, overdose/substance abuse, post-stent, pacemaker placement, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3 for adult patients
• RNs are required to titrate drips, including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• RNs are required to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips; GE monitor brand used with tele tech oversight
• Respiratory equipment ranges from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
• EMR system is Epic
• 12-hour night shifts (1830–0630)
• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
• Minimum of 2 holidays falling within the contract period required
• Floating may be required to PCU or occasionally Med/Surg at typical unit ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
• If placed on call and called back in, a 30-minute arrival window is required
• Nurse aides available based on census; Healthcare Support Tech available 3 days per week (M–F, 0800–1630)

Requirements

• Active NE or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience applicable to this role
• Driver's license required for consideration, used to verify permanent address for radius compliance
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (permanent address verified by driver's license)

Additional Information

• Candidates may not have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 1 shift
• A pass/fail open-book skills exam is administered on Wednesdays during orientation; a score of 90% or higher is required to pass
• RTO requests of 7 days or fewer per 13-week period must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Block scheduling is not available; self-scheduling applies to core staff, with travelers placed into the schedule
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result to contract termination
• Blue scrubs or facility dress code may apply — confirm specifics during onboarding
