American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU/CCU night shift position requiring advanced critical care skills and KY or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 16-bed ICU/CCU unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 2:1, occasionally 3:1
• Unit staffed with monitor techs, with additional tech support depending on census
• Uses specialized equipment including Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week required
• Floating required on a rotational basis with core staff
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (KY or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Certification
• Experience with central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions
• Strong critical thinking skills and self-motivation required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Deliver critical care nursing services within a collaborative ICU/CCU team environment
• Scrub dress code: any color scrubs permitted, no denim, capris, or camo prints
• Team environment includes a mix of experienced day and night shift staff with scheduling flexibility
• Unit has been recognized with a Daisy Award for a Critical Care RN and participates in community initiatives such as making blankets for hospice patients
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted for this position
