American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department position in Charlotte, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and the ability to float across a regional network of facilities.

Details

• Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department with an additional 32 vertical care areas at a 130-licensed-bed hospital
• High-volume ED seeing 200+ patients per day across all age groups in a fast-paced, acute setting
• Patient population includes trauma stabilization (GSW, stabbings), mental health, substance use, stroke, respiratory illness, chest pain, DKA, and other common ED diagnoses
• Non-trauma designated facility — trauma patients are stabilized and transferred to a higher-level facility
• Stroke Center designation
• Typical RN patient ratio is 1:4
• 12-hour day shifts, 0700–1900, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Floating required to all facilities within Region 1 (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Freestanding EDs within the region, Lake Norman, and Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) — candidates unwilling to float should not apply
• EMR: Epic; IV Pump: Alaris; Med Dispensing: Omnicell; Monitors: Philips
• 6-week scheduling cycle

Requirements

• Active RN license — NC or compact state license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
• TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation
• Experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients in emergency settings
• Epic EMR experience
• Must provide last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth for consideration
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Department support includes CNAs, a receptionist, and a charge nurse
• Orientation consists of NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; any missed contracted hours must be made up by extending the contract end date
• Required scrub color: Navy
