American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position at a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital, requiring interventional scrub experience and the ability to handle high-acuity cardiac cases.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting with 1,266 staffed beds, a Level 1 trauma center and teaching facility designation
• Cath Lab unit focused on diagnostic and interventional PCI procedures
• Patient population includes AMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, heart failure, aortic stenosis, V-Tach, endocarditis, AFib, peripheral vascular disease, and sick sinus syndrome
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Procedures include conscious sedation administration under attending direction, sterile supply handoff, vital sign assessment, and Epic documentation; cross-training to run hemodynamics in a monitor tech role is likely
• Special equipment includes Epic, Impella, and IABP
• Epic is the EMR and prior experience is required
• Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts with rotating start times: 0700–1730 (standard), 0700–1730 (late), and 1000–2030 (close) as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating on-call required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; on-call schedule subject to change based on unit needs
• Floating within the service line required to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Navy scrubs required

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required; must be valid at time of consideration (pending IL license may be accepted — note when applying)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Interventional scrub experience required
• Experience in a high-volume, high-acuity Cath Lab environment required
• Level 1 trauma center experience required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
