American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Float Pool position at a large Level I Trauma Academic Medical Center, requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a large Level I Trauma Academic Medical Center with over 1,500 staffed beds
• ICU Float Pool position requiring float coverage across 5 ICU specialties between two campuses (York Street Campus and Saint Raphael Campus), located approximately 2 blocks apart with shuttle service available
• Floating to step-down units is required as needed, including a pulmonary step-down unit with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start date)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior experience in a large Trauma Center setting required
• Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Former permanent staff of the health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval
• Flu vaccine is required — declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required; religious or medical exemptions may be considered
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as directed by the facility
• Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month
